Who we are
Sixteen years of teaching, one student at a time.
iPickGuitar is a private guitar lesson service in Toronto. Since 2010 we have taught students of all ages and levels — children holding a guitar for the first time, teenagers working toward their next grade, and adults returning to an instrument they love.
Every lesson is private and one-to-one, taught in the student’s home across Toronto and the GTA or live online from anywhere. Lessons are built around the person in front of us: the music they want to play, the pace that suits them, and the fundamentals they need to keep progressing.
Alongside everyday playing, our students prepare for recitals, competitions, and Royal Conservatory of Music examinations — a structured path that gives progress something to measure. The aim is always the same: a confident, capable, independent musician, not simply a few songs or a passed exam.
We are proud to keep teaching students throughout the GTA, and we welcome new families whenever they are ready to begin.

Everything a student needs to keep growing.
One approach, wherever the lesson happens — at the kitchen table or over a screen. Students move from first chords to graded examinations on one continuous plan.

Founded by Julian Hasko
The teacher who started it all.
Julian’s love of guitar began at age 12, inspired by his father. He went on to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto under classical guitarist Robert Hamilton.
In 2010, Julian founded iPickGuitar to help students discover the guitar and develop a lasting passion for music. His approach brings together strong technical foundations, creativity, and encouragement — the goal is a confident, capable, independent musician.
He still teaches today, and every student’s plan — from first chords to RCM examinations — is shaped by the same approach he built iPickGuitar on.
